There's young mum gets on the train I catch home from the office, juggling her own bag, a toddler, maybe 18 months old, a buggy and the toddlers bag. Looks like little one goes to nursery while mum is at work. If I'm there at the right time I'll give her a hand with the buggy to get it on the train.

Daughter is maybe 18 months old. Walking fairly confidently, words starting to come clearly. If she is tired after a tough day at nursery she will sit with mum and watch something on a phone. This last week she was more awake and wanted to do some drawing. Mum produced a note pad and a pen, and the little one happily draws away trying to explain to her mum what she is drawing. It's really sweet to watch. I can't imagine how hard it is juggling work, nursery and a train commute on your own, but they are nailing it.

It's the final session of the snooker on tele tonight. MrsS has just announced that she is unexpectedly working an out of hours shift so she will be out of the house until 11pm. So I get to watch the snooker all evening without anyone telling me how boring it is and what an old man I am for enjoying it.

I might even get a curry delivered and open a few beers for peak happiness.

I'm DC that driving to a work 'away day' (that's proportionally made me cross) my car keeps warning me of 'Danger! Roads may be icy!', however, what has made me very joyful in it all is seeing the rising sun illuminate the fields of rapeseed. There is an abundant brilliant yellow glow surrounding me on my drive. 🌞🌞😁

There's a stretch of road near my house that I drive along most days. It has a steep sheep pasture above it, and some horse paddocks below. There's nearly always a kestrel perched on the telegraph lines or hovering over the fields either side of the road.  I hadn't seen the kestrel for a while, but for the last three or four days it has been replaced by a Little Owl, easily one of my favourite locals.

Today I saw a personalised plate "Y 600GLE" which as a question I think works on a number of levels

South Tyneside council have been going a bit cycling crazy over the last 12 months.

First was the upgraded cycling path, a 2 mile stretch along the coast road, which move the cycle lane near the grass instead of along the parking lay-by

Then, there was the toucan crossing installed on NCN Route 1. Which gets you straight over a main road safely without having to take a dog leg diversion onto a path near shops, and use a risky island in the middle of the road.

Very much like this one, but without the bit in the middle

And finally, a new pump track is due to be finished soon. I might have a go when the kids are at school

Bass. The boy convinced me that our Celica really needed a dirty big subwoofer in it so a quick call to my sounds man who happened to have a Deathbox enclosure with a 12" driver in it to arrange an install later and we were both sat in the car giggling like school kids as the car rattled itself apart.

Everyone who's heard it has come out with a big grin in their face.

Never got into the Max Power scene when I was younger - think I'm making up for it now...

(Don't worry, all the wiring is all neat tidy now)

My grandson . He's six, and he appears to worship me regardless of my faults. I can't play football properly because I am a cripple, and he says “That's okay. I'll take it easy with you. You're really good considering how old and broken you are”. He has such high expectations and wonderful belief in me. It actually makes me want to live up to his expectations.

I am being made a better person by the adoration of a six-year-old. I love it.

WCA it's great being a grandad isn't it? My grandson is 15 now and he still worships me even though he wouldn't admit it. He hasn't had the most stable life and I am his stability and enabler for his passion for football. I never realized that I would be doing something I am so proud of in my 70s

You submit your gas meter reading and it takes them a day to work out the gas bill.

don’t they have computers nowadays, or even calculators?

Finding this thread, thinking it's new and I've never seen it before, reading the first few posts, smiling, realising I already liked it.

Also, lying in the garden staring at the blue sky. Wisps of clouds forming and  tearing up in the wind. Seagulls aimlessly riding the currents.

Long, slow Sunday runs. 2 or 3 hours running through the fields and woods with your mates talking rubbish. I miss it so much when I’m injured or unable to make it.

Nature. Being in woodlands. Taking my own garden and creating a wildlife sanctuary,  after eight years it's coming together really well.

Wildlife watching, caring for the wildlife and supporting many wildlife charities.

Watching road bike racing. Still learning all the intricacies after 15 years.

Being with 'some' family members :o)

Skiing. Being in the mountains with like minded friends. Snow.
