A friend's getting married. Fair enough, he's not the most adventurous of types and going out and getting legless isn't really his thing, but I know he really likes Italy and italian food. So direct flights and a long weekend in Rome, Milan, Pisa?
His best mate is organisinag a stag night. I heard that thse plan was to meet up for a couple of pimts, go to the footy then a few beers afterwards. Ok, not exactly riotous, but given me and the groom to be do that from time to time anyway, you'd have thought something a bit more interesting/unusual/exotic might have been thrown in to the mix.
But then, it turned out the weekend in question, we're playing away (in footie terms, nothing else), so it's been cancelled because "it's not that convenient" It's about 20 miles away/£5 on the train and it's not fekkin conmveneient? So instead. Meet at the pub we normally meet in pre-game (which we only ever go to pre-game) then a couple of games of snooker. then persumably home to nice cup of cocoa and in bed by 10.
FFS, i tunred 50 this year and the useless waste of space who thinks this is worth the effort asked me waht it's like to be getting old.

I'd take the bull by the horns and organise something - sounds like his best mate just can't be arsed. I went away for the weekend and did some Quad biking and go carting and then went out on the town. He's going to want something he can look back on. Not sure just another night down your local will fit the bill somehow.

"Not convenient" sounds like not everybody is committed. Maybe have the few drinks in a bar night for those that want to show their token gesture and then anyone whos up for it have a quick trip away?

Did 36hrs in Dublin for a lads day out. Flights on Ryanair, stayed in a hostel, cost us about £40ish each return to make it plus plenty of Guinness on top. Guinness brewery tour and then hit temple bar, by the time people are getting knackered you'll be on your way back to the airport anyways. You'll have a great time. You could probably achieve the same thing in Italy.

Stag was the same thing in Amsterdam over 3 days, if people want to be on it, it'll be a success.
