I've tried really hard to engage with the show tonight. It's been a fantastic year of sport and I'm happy to celebrate that.

BUT

is it just me or have the BBC become a pathetically poor mainstream broadcaster? Perhaps I am imagining things but didn't BBC presenters used to have gravitas? Weren't BBC broadcasts aimed to engage, educate and inspire rather than repeat all the tick boxes that people look for in a reality show? I'm finding the whole thing unwatchable.
