Is tomtom the only option?
I really like the idea of having music and hr built into the watch, the tomtom runner 2 with hr + music is relatively cheap now. The only other option I can see is the apple watch 2, which would be a fair bit more expensive, and I am only really looking for a dedicated running/sports watch.
I was disappointed the fenix 5 didn't come with a music option, looks a great watch otherwise, but maybe too expensive for something that is likely to be updated every couple of years.
Are there any other options for a watch with hr and music?
And if anyone has gone from a garmin watch to tomtom, what is the general functionality like?
How about the Samsung Gear Fit 2? Comes with 4gb internal storage, and connectable via bluetooth headphones? GPS, HR monitor, and tracks offline. I have one, love it. Battery lasts about 2 days, constantly being used.
"Gear Fit2 pairs with smartphones running Android 4.4 and higher with over 1.5GB RAM, iOS 9.0 and later, and smartphones iPhone 5 and newer. (For iPhone 6S and 6S+ running iOS 10 and later, connection to Gear may be unstable.)"
Also, currently available for around £100 on fleabay, due to the fact samsung are giving them away with certain phones at the moment, and people are just claiming them then selling them on...
I've got a Tom Tom Adventurer from the beginning of the year - works great with a pair of Trekz bone-conducting headphones. I used mine for a 5-day race in the Arctic where temperatures dropped to -27C and it only needed re-charging once. Used the GPS for one day where it lasted 16 hours.
