Don't think I'll have a funeral, I won't be there anyway but it seems like a massive waste of money and unless something changes drastically before I croak there would be limited appeal. I have a pretty small circle of friends and a small family, I can see the point for massively popular people, but I'm fine with just being gone.

It's over 5 mins so maybe not as I'd want the full tune and it needs to be played on a good system not the crackly bush crematorium speakers with the burst paper cone that never gets replaced

Yeah. the family politics can get 'interesting' when people die. My step-mother basically wanted to impose her own music on my father's funeral and we all had a series of fairly passive-aggressive conversations about the fact that he'd never expressed any interest in Only Men Aloud (or whatever they are called) or any other faux-opera crap. So we ended up with one that he definitely asked for, one that he would definitely have listened to but that none of us, his offspring, remembered him ever saying anything about, and this:
My mum had "Time to say goodbye" by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman which really delivered an emotional punch.
Which delivered no emotional punch for us because we all knew that it wasn't for my father.
Can you tell that I'm still a little annoyed? And will always hate that song? 😀

A serious song that is very much on topic is "Keep me in your Heart" by Warren Zevon. I like it, being a bit of a Zevon fan, but it is possibly too literal for the occasion. (His version of "Knockin on Heaven's Door" is also spiffing. Slightly surprised it hasn't been mentioned, but also too literal I guess.)
