Had a brief affair with Branston but saw the light and back on Heinz. Mind you a good dollop of nduja perks them up a treat. What are yours?
Heinz beans are a watery mess now. Liquid to beans ratio is all to cock.
Branston is far better, and even Lidl is better than Heinz.

Heinz seems to not agree with my delicate constitution anymore as well. No idea why as the ingredients seem the same as Branston, but there's a definite difference.
Tesco reduced salt and sugar, for the win.
The Aldi "Bramwell" beans are better than Heinz. I usually add a teaspoon of Marmite anyway.
Heinz but I have to sieve them nowadays due to too much sauce.

Branston or supermarket own brand stuff . Bookers probably tops them all though. Same for ketchup.

Whats the betting the own brand beans are made by the same big factories as the well known brands?

Recently did a few samples and have largely come to the conclusion Aldi have it nailed. Not the cheapo ones, but still half the price a can of heinz
Heinz are 67p a can in Waitrose, when you buy a multipack. Not really that expensive.
Branston. Still like the Heinz beans and (veggie) sausages though. But Heinz beans on their own are def runnier and have less flavour for me.
The value Aldi baked beans are my go to. Value spaghetti hoops also from Aldi are fine. On toast with brown sauce and mustard and occasionally grated cheese.
Not in a million years am I going to spend lots of money on vanity beans and spaghetti hoops!
On the strength of this thread I may try Branston's. Still got 12 cans of Heinz though to get through.

Tesco. I like to ignore all that "do not allow to boil" and simmer them for a few minutes until they're good and thick, then add a big grind of black pepper and a knob of butter.

Growing up it was Heinz all the way. But it's been Branston for (what feels like) the last decade. Or whatever Lidl or Aldi have by way of equivalents if away from home.

I just looked at the price of Heinz - £5 for a 6 pack (83p/tin). Adsa are £1.61 for 4 pack (40p/tin) or Aldi 41p/tin.
I'll be honest, I've never had Branstons so no idea where they sit on the value scale - looks to be about 70p/tin.
Given that I'm happy with the own brand we'll stick with it. Don't want the children thinking we do branded foods now otherwise expectations will rise.
Branston is also my choice.
There seems to be a distinct lack of Heinz love here.

I'm a fan of Heinz (but not the price) and the waitrose ones taste just as good, branstons are not for me, but havent tried aldi's since they were 9p, and stacked on pallets (quite grim btw).
Some big life choices today. Gonna pick up a couple of tins each of Branston and Aldi and follow my destiny
None. Rinse them off and then taste the beans. Grilled plum tomatoes, or just a tin of Italian chopped with some added herbs are much nicer.
Reduced sugar and salt ones if possible, lightly fry a clove of garlic and some chilli flakes, add beans and a splash of red wine, simmer to let the alcohol evaporate, consume with a jacket potato and cheese. I don't eat beans with anything else, unless they are home made beans which are a different thing entirely.
Heinz, eaten cold of course.
Weirdly, I'm not a fan of baked beans. I like beans in say a chilli, and I'll hoover up canned spaghetti any day, but baked beans always taste/smell "off" somehow.

Another vote for Branstons with a good slug of Worcester Sauce or Hendersons Relish.

HP all day long, but they are often hard to find. Aldi's version was quite a good substitute, but they've changed the flavour recently so I'm back on Heinz, but I'm not happy.
Was always Heinz for many years. Then they got a bit too watery with the too much sauce and I discovered Branston. Wouldn't go back.
Sainsburys Low Salt and Sugar. Our family is so conditioned to these that Heinz taste horrendously sweet and sickly. I like mine slightly overdone (doesn't make the toast soggy) with plenty of white pepper.
