Managed to snap the arm on my very old pair of oakleys, can't get a replacement so looking to fix.
Just glueing has never worked, was thinking a bit of prepreg carbon fibre might do the trick?
Any idea where I might get that as I wouldn't be needing large sheets of the stuff?
Could you disassemble some cheap shades and fit to existing Oakley hinges ?
Elastoplast surely?
If they're plastic then drill some small holes in each bit of the broken arm and insert piano type wire into them and glue. The wire reinforces the glued joint.
Where on the arm is the snap?
When I've done what wwaswas says I've also wrapped the join very tightly in cotton thread soaked in superglue as another reinforcement.
How about some araldite and shrink wrap over the top?
A colleague has just done this to his regular glasses and seems to be holding fine.
A few years back I snapped the arm off a pair of M Frames (the non hinged version).
I tried gluing it, which failed, then tried clipping some of the plastic of the ends of the arms and melting it with a soldering iron all around the break. This lasted for a little while but ultimately failed.
After all this faffing and butchering I rang Oakley UK and explained what I had done. I was originally inquiring whether I could just buy the frame but they said to send it back and they would provide a 'crash replacement' for £10. This is despite the mess I had made trying to repair them. All I needed was the original receipt, which thankfully I had.
It's worth asking them for a replacement?
Do Oakley not warranty this sort of thing?

It's not a warranty issue if you've broken them and they're really old, but they might do a 'crash replacement' thing.
What frame?
It's the original fives from late 90s. Contacted Oakley who don't have and spares and they offered me 20% of a new other pair.
Tried gluing and adding extra support, doesn't hold for long as it's broken about 2/3 down the arm
