Slightly more concerning is the fact that google just bought Nest Labs. Cue adverts for holidays in the sun and Edinburgh woollen mill when you turn your thermostat up. They are the Borg. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!

I'll be keeping an eye on what the microwave and toaster are up to... always knew they would be the first to rise up.
The UK defence satellite system is actually called skynet, pretty sure it pre-dates the movies though.
