Thus i suspect it's an issue with the shower, right?
BOTH head and handheld bit of the shower have essentially NO flow, whereas the bath and basin taps are fine...
Shower is a Bristan mixer unit thing .. so though i'm no expert in these, i plan to check both the thermastatic mixer (new ones here) and the flow/diverter for a build up of limescale and such...
Any other tips and bits in the shower I should look out for?

Shower pump somewhere been switched off?
Your bath taps will be mains and or tank fed. You'll probably find the feed goes off the tank to your shower via a shower pump which is either not working or switched off (check loft and cupboards).
When you turn the shower on, the pump should kick in (assuming the water valves are all open to your shower (both sides of the pump).
What type of hot water system do you have? Is it mains pressure or gravity? If gravity is the pressure fine when the shower head is held low and a dribble at head height?
would it be pump fed even if it's got a separate hot and cold feed into the shower unit?
RE what ype of pump/system...
It's a hot water tank system, with a bunch of vats in the loft space too...
I'll admit, i understand how combi units work (which it is the OTHER side of the house), but this side is a tank system..
I'll have a look into teh pump idea..there's a tonne of switches near and around the airing cupboard for me to explore... (jsut make sure I don't turn on teh immersion!)

inline gauze filter on the shower mixer?
Yes, I’d expect your pump (if you have one) to pump hot and cold separately to the shower. If there is no pump and you do indeed have a gravity fed system get used to rubbish showers. You can check for filters and scaled up pipes but ultimately a shower head near the upstairs ceiling isn’t very far below the cold water tank in the loft so you don’t get much pressure.
(This was why I asked whether you got a decent flow when the hand held bit is held lower, it would explain the other bathroom taps being OK but your shower a dribbler in it’s usual position up high)
Had same problem, inline gauze filter was blocked at the input of the shower.
BTW I am not a plumber but my dad was. The tip he gave me for quickly checking whether your water is mains or gravity fed from a tank in the loft is to put your thumb over the tap and turn it on. If you can stop water flowing with your thumb it’s gravity but if you and the room are now soaked it is mains 😀
It will be caco3 build up in the thermostatic mixer cartridge.
Switch it full cold and the flow shoild increase significantly
New cartridge should sort it.
Had this at my mother's, easiest fix was soak shower head in vinegar overnight.
That worked, next step would have been gauze filter.
Try easy stuff first.
