You are able to slander anyone provided you add "allegedly" after each proclomation.

Moi, tell Isreal to give Palasine back and I'm happy to eat their tomatoes and cucumbers.

You have to check the compendium of sterotypes. The self appointed grandees decide every 13 days which stereotypes are considered acceptable.

This is quite a good guide

Ah yes, good ol' Israel lecturing the rest of the world on nuclear weapons while steadfastly denying access to UN Atomic Weapon inspectors. Frankly, I'm with Binners on this though suspect that even in a thousand years the bacteria crawling around the nuclear wasteland will still be fighting with each other.

Iran grow and export the very best pistachio nuts. As a big fan of said nuts I would be miffed if they became radioactive. For that reason I think a pre emptive strike on Irans neclear facilities would be bad.

Also the propaganda about Iran is sickening, no it's not the best place to be but some of our so called friends have lots more blood on their hands but as they're white and speak English or brown and have oil it's OK.

MrNutt - are you suggesting a pre-emptive nuclear strike on the allotment? Or the pub?

Iranians are the nicest, most hospitable people I've ever met.

Perhaps helping them achive a rational and stable democracy would be prefferable to nuking them 'till they glow.

However, if anyone fancies blowing the crap out of Blackpool, ,Bacup, Burnley, Las Vegas, Swindon or Stockport, I'd volunteer to carry the briefcase myself.

Rubber dinghy rapids, anyone?

I think there are possibly the odd one or two Iraqis, Royal Marines, American hostages might issue with that statement ๐Ÿ˜‰

Tod on a Saturday Night? Not a chance! I'm from Warrington originally. Have you been out there on a Saturday night? Kabul would be safer!

Dereck, I watched that film a couple of years ago.

pretty much the most depressing thing I've ever watched.

If ever you've sort of wanted a nuclear war to happen, just out of morbid curiosity to see what happens, watching this is a good way to make you change your mind.

There is absolutely zero cool stuff to come from anyone nuking anyone/ Scrap it all, I say, because one day, somewhere someone bonkers enough will be in a position to put their finger on the button.

Turned down an invitation to go out one night whilst staying in Warrington. Rather glad I did, as the members of our party who did go came in some time later, looking rather traumatised and not wanting to talk about it. ๐Ÿ˜

It's interesting that you mention Americans. This is the country that shot down an Iranian passenger jet, killing 290 innocent people. They have never admitted responsibility or apologised.

Having said that, like most people, I recognise that I shouldn't tar a country's population because of the actions of its military.

Just to keep myself right, are self appointed grandees the same as big hitters?

As an aside, how can a Londoner; resident of a city who'se contribution to world cuisine consists pretty much of jellied eels, consider himself qualified to comment on the culinary artistry present in parts of the world he's never even visited.

Regarding the Iran situation - it's not like they haven't been poking America with a big stick for about the last 30 years, so I'd say they've had a pretty good run so far. I suspect Russia in particular might have a lot more to say about any incursions into Iran than they had about Iraq or Afghanistan. Not sure where China stands vis-a-vis Iran either, but I can't imagine they're desperate to have middle-eastern oil supplies disrupted significantly either.

Erm, probbly cos I live in the most culinary diverse city on Earth. ๐Ÿ˜

Yeah, that'll be it. Not that you know owt about said culinary diversity, if all you can think of is jellied eels. ๐Ÿ˜†

I believe they actually decorated the captain of the ship who launched the missile - it was shortly after this event that Pan Am Flight 103 got blown out of the sky over Lockerbie...

Probably because the US was propping up the Shah, including using the CIA to finance a coup to bring him to power.

Ah yes. Gadaffi was a baddy back then. He became a goody when we were making up stuff about Iraq, then we decided he was a baddy after all.

It's astonishing that so many middle-eastern countries display antipathy to us and the United States...

Indeed. PanAm 103 was blown up in revenge for that Iranian aircraft. Nowt to do with Libya at all

Wasn't it Armadinajad (sp?) who said he would wipe Israel off the world map? What a comforting thought when your neighbour says stuff like that and gets really into atom tinkering...

I can't imagine why those who would like to bomb Iran would take notice of what the 14th most powerful man in Iran who doesn't have control over anything nuclear allegedly said.

The difference with Iran is the potential for Jihadists to use nuclear weapons and cleanse the planet in the name of religion. Unlike the Cold War stalemate, Islamists could be very willing to kill everything including themselves.

And Bush a fundamentalist Christian was a perfectly sane individual to have in charge of a set of nukes? Or how about Israel or ****stan both very stable countries without sections who would be perfectly happy to attack there neighbours given half an excuse.

So can someone give me a reason to support Saudi, a country that regularly beats, stones and whips it citizens, treats women as second class citizens and is responsible for the manipulation of fuel prices for decades?

Islamic ideology Elfboy, same reason I believe ****stan should be considered an immediate threat should the next coup see Jihadists in charge. Bush was an utter crackpot but he still wanted to live and breath. I am no Zionist either but again, Israelis do not see killing themselves in the name of God as beneficial. This is the difference.

Oh right, ok then. A load of cobblers based on your narrow-mindedness and woeful lack of understanding of different cultures, something you've displayed on here countless times before. Thought so. For a minute there I thought you might have some amazing insight no-one else has ever considered, but no, same old ignorant xenophobic rubbish.

Even Japan has to bow down to the inevitable when Fat Man and Little boy pay them a visit. The more aggressive they are the better because the pay back will be much more severe.

And Bush a fundamentalist Christian was a perfectly sane individual to have in charge of a set of nukes? Or how about Israel or ****stan both very stable countries without sections who would be perfectly happy to attack there neighbours given half an excuse.

They are sane in their own minds but you are not by opposing them.

So can someone give me a reason to support Saudi,

I like their economical method of separating one's head. Very eco friendly.

Elfinsafety,

Take Israel out and Iran will conquer middle east just like their ancestors. Take Iran out Israel will be seen as the thorn in middle east but then you cannot deny Israel their land. Unless you want to turn it into sand.

Well, Isreal is a rogue nuclear state, who refuse inspectors, deny thier capability and haven't signed any treaties. That's fine, as they are 'our' sort of chaps, and can be trusted not to make a bally hoo-haa out of the whole thing. Either that or they are fundamentalist right wing nutjobs.
