[#2607837]

I need to send some portfolio pics to someone. I'm limited to 3MB so I've shrunk the images so that they are around 100k each. There's 22 images totalling 2.4MB. The problem is that when I try to stick them together as a PDF the PDF file comes out at around 4MB. I'd like them to be stuck together somehow so they come out in order. Can I tweak the PDF somehow? Is there another way?

Get a dropbox.com account. Put them up there and give the recipient the link.

+1 for Dropbox.

Zip them up so it's a single file to download, then put them in the Public folder of your dropbox. You can then copy a url to give the recipient.

Thanks. I've got a drop box account (its great BTW). Sending them as they are is no problem. I want to send them as a single file so they will be replayed in the correct order such as in a PDF.

So just put the PDF in your dropbox public folder and give the recipient the link to download them.

Not my limit, not the email limits, the limit specified by the recipient unfortunately

Do you need to send them as a PDF ( with some sort of additional text ) ?

If not, zip the files together and send the archive.

Acrobat 9 has a reduce file size option, but tbh 3mb for 22 images is pushing it a bit.

The images total to 2.4MB. I'd hope the PDFness wouldn't add more than 600k bit its almos as much as the images at the moment. Trying PDF options but it seems to make little difference.

Thanks everyone. Done it now! I just download Nitro PDF and the PDF file is almost exactly the same size as the images. Quality seems OK, too. My new favourite PDF writer ๐Ÿ™‚

If not already, save your images with the same file name and a numeric reference that would automatically show them in the order you want them viewed. Stick them in your drop box and send he recipient the link, including polite request they are viewed in numerical order?
I would not use the PDF compression thing - it is set to 'kill'
