Doesn't the bootloader have a way to restore the OS from an SD card? Google is your friend.

Sammy Android phones usually have a way to force download mode. Something along the lines of Vol-Up + Menu while switching phone on. Have a search on the XDA forums. Once you get that working you can blast a new ROM onto it, probably using ODIN.

Edit: here you go ...

Let him work it out for himself, if he can't well tough poo. Why should it cost you anything? Im sure you can find a very old mobile kicking about which may persuade him to sort his shit out for himself!

"he did something, and now it doesn't work in an unspecified manner" isn't a lot to go on.

As above, it shouldn't cost you a penny.

Assume you're following the link in my post and can't get into download mode? keep trying if so, you might need to try it a few times, also try keeping the vol-down & select buttons held down but release the power. It's a bit fiddly.
