Head out of town to The Malet in Newton Toney. Possibly the finest pub in the land. Had an epic lunch there today as it happens! Brilliant beer, excellent staff and lovely unfussy food.
In town? Have been hearing good things about the Haunch of Venison of late, but I've not been in.
Curveball suggestion if you're after lunch - Anokaa on Fisherton Street. Very good indeed. And a few doors away from a great LBS!

It's not quite in Salisbury, okay it's 20 mins away but Hindon has two rather nice pubs....
