Related to Dispatches tonight?

But yes, I found him OK in small doses a long time ago, but since all the conspiracy nonsense, he's been insufferable.

And was a stand up comic for a long time. Serious allegations though…

I’m disappointed but not entirely surprised.

He’s a bright guy, but as he admitted in his “booky wooky” he’s not all there.

Doesn't deserve his own thread. Day(s) in court, hopefully.

More likely the State doesn't like what he's been talking about as well as the fact that he has a large following.

He'll be ok. Andrew Tate's had spoken out to defend him. Oh yeah, so has Elon Musk.

I think allegations of rape and sexual assault are a little more significant than the state worrying about his conspiracy nonsense…

Some very serious allegations.

Hopefully the courts find out the truth either way.

I can’t stand the man, but let’s wait to see if he is convicted in court before we just assume he’s guilty

I mean it could be that the state is trying to silence him for bravely telling the truth. Or it could be that conspiracy pedlars tend to be unprincipled opportunistic dicks…?

I'm not a fan of trial by (social) media.

If he's done what he appears to be accused of, then it's a Police matter and he should get a fair trial, though I appreciate people's faith in the legal system for these kind of offences is rightfully low.

So the women accusing him of rape and assault are liars?

The vitriol I've read today about who Dispatches will be about has been off the chart. Various names mentioned and the usual, "I always knew they were a wrong un" despite Dispatches not even being aired yet and therefore no confirmation who it is about.

Dispatches haven't named him. He named himself.

The program is called Russell Brand: in Plain sight.

That's a clue...

The stuff I had read was yesterday that lead into today and at the time it was being kept under wraps with programme guides still not showing any details. I was more meaning the various names mentioned that were not Russell Brand and the usual mentality of obviously guilty even though as we now know, Dispatches is not about them.

This no doubt says more about me but, given how much press was around when he was very popular about how many females he was bedding, it really isn't a surprise for this kind of stuff to come out.

Saying that, I'd hope that he gets a fair trial...

The fact he has a super injunction in place (at least according to social media) makes his defence its a mainstream media stichup hard to swallow

Read a long while back of gagging orders in place that were on victims. I wonder if they will be on the programme tonight.

Always very suspect on gagging orders.

The only thing it makes me think is how he’s managed to cover it up for so long, but I believe super injunctions are good for that

I love that he portays himself as this anti-establishment figure, but he’s using eye-watering Ly expensive lawyers to gag people from revealing what he’s really like

Really sticking it to the man there, eh? 🙄

Is it because he’s just discovered that “baroque” is an adjective, but not yet worked out the correct usage of it?

I mean, call me naive but could it be that it's taken C4 and the Times a while to interview the alleged victims, write the story, make the program etc etc.

Or i suppose they might have received instructions from on high....

just as well this isn’t the case here then. Instead it’s well researched investigative journalism which has, no doubt, been through plenty of internal legal challenge before publication.

Not another media storm with decades old allegations that never make it to court. If there is sufficient evidence then get him infront of jury. If not then leave the awful man alone and hope he disappears

Is there a statute of limitations on rape and sexual assault?

I'm not supporting Brand but have any charges been brought and what's this "The Sunday Times said it gave Brand eight days within which to reply to detailed allegations"? Eh? Else what?

To quote the Met - "If anyone believes they have been the victim of a sexual assault, no matter how long ago it happened, we would encourage them to contact police."
