as title really- I have just started running as I want to cross one of my things to do before I die off( run a marathon) but I am new to the game. I have been running in tightish cotton boxers and a pair of normal shorts but I am getting rubbed up badly! walking like john wayne now after my 6 miler this morning! cheers for any help, advice, piss takes etc etc

A good pair of running shorts should have a mesh set of crackers in already.

All decent shorts have inners, most modern ones are coolmax etc.
You dont need anything else regardless of conditions or distance in the undercrackers dept.

If you are chaffed between your thighs then the only way around that is to run in short tights.
When you have been running for a while it will disapear as you lose a bit of weight etc.
For longer runs its probably a good idea to use a bit of vaseline as well.

cheers for that, i will try the coolmax type of thing then as I think it was just a very sweaty pair of non suitable crackers doing the rubbing! lovely thought for the morning! ๐Ÿ˜€

Shorts have become more generous of recent years.

I recall the old cotton Ron Hill jobbies with no inner, very minimalist cut! Seen many an embarrassing "escape"!

Jesus, that reminds me of when I used to play saturday footie for a team. Went to play one saturday without bringing my speedos which I used to use to keep everything in place. There's a long ball played over the top of midfield, and striker deadly is sprinting against the slowish defender from the opposition...only to look down and see that his shorts have ridden up and the little man is flying around for the whole world to see. The keeper was so put off I scored easily!
