Weir has been rewarded for his form with Worcester by a call up to the Scotland squad. Great news for him, less so for Wuss who could do with him for the games against Bath and a Quins.

Bugger! A real problem for Wuss to get a couple of extra points this month which would set them up nicely in the middle of the table. But he's definitely earned his shot.

some of the assaults they have perpetrated over the years.

Jerry Guscott wrote this morning that he identified three high tackles in the match around the neck, 2 by SA and one by Itoje, all went unpunished.

He's also stated that for compose in reverse and go-forward he reckons Farrell will stay starting at 10 as long as we have some centres on the field.  Ford comes on as a finisher to flatten the line with fresher runners.

AA that’s harsh! 😂 He has been genuinely very good for Wuss especially after some of the shit signed to play fly half in the past (yes Rayn Lamb, I’m talking about you). The press don’t think he’ll actually play though.

Hogg back for Scotland this weekend.

Some big selection call for Wales Ellis Jenkins back fit could slot into 6 or 7. Thomas Francis at 3, Samson Lee still out. Liam Williams and Josh Adams could play wing and Holmes although I expect the later to feature v Tonga. Biggest call is 10 Anscombe or Biggar and Patchel could be fit too.

Wont the Prem teams only have an agreement with the RFU to release players for internationals? So they may not be mandated to do so for international players.

Simmons and Lawes in for England.  Ostensibly the same team with a little more grit, it’ll be interesting to see if the front rows are reversed in concern of starting order.

Several pundits feel England will be make it very difficult for the AB’s - I do have a funny feeling last weeks game was a tactical rehearsal - defend hard 1st half then attack in the last, which will mix with the AB’s usual finishing 20 mins a bit.

We’ll still lose.

Where did you get this? I can't find any new info on selection? I thought Simmons was injured?

Ah OK

International window -I have been looking and found this which doesn't say much. Cant find a definite reference. I thought you were a Ref AA - don't you have access to more resource on this? https://www.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2018/oct/02/club-versus-country-row

EDIT - Found it read all about regulation 9 here.

New trial TMO principals for this weekend's internationals

  • Try scoring should be an on-field decision with the referee being responsible, but the team of four can all contribute.
  • The current list of potential infringements for which a TMO can be referred will be retained, but any referral needs to be prompt, clear and consistent.
  • The ‘on the run’ chat between the match officials and TMO for foul play will be removed with the onus on the referee, who should only refer to the TMO issues that are clear and obvious serious acts of foul play, including penalty kick, yellow card or red card as a potential sanction in order to protect player welfare
  • Match officials can review foul play up to when the game restarts, when a penalty is kicked to touch and when foul play footage becomes available
  • Proposal to include live broadcast of the TMO in action.

Have you seen that Karl prop guy in action? He is a monster. When do Engerland name their team?

Somebody better slip something into their coffee. Novovirus isn't gonna help us this time.

At least their bench looks pretty weak:

Replacements: Dane Coles, Ofa Tuungafasi, Nepo Laulala, Scott Barrett, Matt Todd, TJ Perenara, Richie Mo'unga, Ryan Crotty.

Yeah, made his Super Rugby debut this year in round 5 and only because the Chiefs had umpteen front row injuries.

Brodie Retallick commented, after the first training session with him, that he couldn't believe the power he could feel him generating at scrum time. Said he'd never scrummaged behind a more powerful prop.

Riddle me this AA

Scotland seem to find it really hard to beat Wales yet regularly beat SH sides including thrashing Aus

Wales seem to find it really easy to beat scotland but cannot beat SH sides especially Aus

Why?  Playing styles?

Scotland are shit and the SH teams dont take them seriously!!! 😁

Wonder if Wales will lose to Australia with the late heartbreak method or the play shit and get dicked before a late rally to make it look close method this year.

Serious answer is we often play Aus outside the test window so have a weakened team, further reduced by having played SA and NZ first. Scotland in autumn are often more able to play a weaker team as a warm up too and so are able to build up to and target 1 big SH team.

A fairly predictable team, with Itoje told to be an “acceptable risk”.  Hmm.  I don’t mind a competitive nuisance but if we go down the route of successful yellows or a red because we are asking our players to err on the side of naughty, that isn’t good.

Predictions?   39-15 AB’s for me.

The same centre pairing as last week?

I hope England have read this. (And I hope NZ haven't)
