One of the actors who quietly appeared loads of films and took lead roles in many, I can’t recall him being rubbish in anything. 90 not a bad age and a great legacy he’s left behind.

This. Was great in any role, regardless of how brief. A joy to watch. Will be sadly missed but 90 is a great innings

RIP indeed.

Many great roles (including my inspiration).  He was Oscar nominated twice, once for a silent performance.

RIP 🙁

The only decent character in Stallone's Judge Dredd.

The man who challenged death to a game of chess also played Jesus. There's a kind of balance in that. A real talent.

He was great, but:

Klytus : Bring me... the bore worms!
Princess Aura : No! Not the bore worms!

Great actor, but in particular, I loved his voice. Real character to it.

I can confirm that not only is Ming alive and well, he also managed to spend an hour blasting a fixie track bike around the Olympic Velodrome in 5:10s and clips this weekend, without any spectacular mishaps. Somehow we all escaped unscathed from our battle to ride around the top of the banking...

Wow, not only did he cheat death* but he's riding a velodrome, in his 90s?! My respect for him has just gone through the roof

*chess again?

This is truly a case of wondering why Ming the Merciless popped in to my head for no apparent reason one day, then the next the news he's dead. Why ever he popped into my head got me wondering what else he's been in since FG and I had no idea there was anything.
