Aye, not good news...I had seen the news and then 15 minutes later, got a message from my daughter telling me about it - he obviously had made an impact on us.

The Simpsons started as a show about Bart and only hit its stride when it became about Homer. I felt the same about Jake and Captain Holt on Brooklyn 99.

Gutted, an absolute family favourite.

Oh, I've only just started watching Brooklyn nine nine and he was very good in that.

Great actor.

Just heard the news on the radio, and it stopped me in my tracks.

I think the writers discovered at some point they could give him literally any line and he would absolutely nail it.

He was great in Homicide: Life on the Street, definitely the star of the show. Surprised at his age, thought he would have been older. RIP.

Such a shame, he was often the funniest thing in a very, very funny show.

And clearly an amazing actor enjoying exploring his talent for comedy.

A huge loss.  Great in Brooklyn 99 and Homicide Life on the Street.

We all watched Brooklyn 99 together.  All laughing out loud.   The scenes with Captain Holt and Jake were hilarious and  often moving.

Loved the show, he was definitely the best part of it but that was thanks to the chemistry of the group as well.

I only really knew him from Homicide Life on the Streets.

But flipping heck! Those scenes with Frank Pembleton, master of "the box"! They'll live with me forever.

What an actor.

I guess I'm lucky that I haven't watched Brooklyn 99 yet. I've got that to look forward to.

Thank you, Andre Braugher.

Wow. Too young.

I'll second the 99 thoughts, but have to mention his excellentness as a voice actor as well. Couldchuck Burkowitz and the police chief in Zootropolis? Hot damn!

Took me a while to get '99'....now I absolutely love it... Captain Holt was funny as...f

One of my faves is when he met his hero...

This is John William Weichselbraun, the Silver Spit Prince!

Still funny

I suspect Madeleine Wunch has something to do with his untimely demise.
