RIP indeed. A very talented man. Sure he enjoyed a good and privileged life but 62 is way too young.

I was much inspired by his writing style.

Final piece in tomorrow's Sunday Times, was a regular reader of his columns and definitely a talented man. Quickly deteriorated though.

When I first got a corporate email account (mid 90s) I had my out of office message as geoffj is away.
I didn't get on with all he was about, but talented nevertheless. RIP

Really enjoyed most of his stuff; a lot of journos could improve by reading his serious articles.
Restaurant and tv reviews were anything from acerbic to complimentary and usually with some humour.
His articles about human rights, oppression and migrants were high quality.
I'll miss his writing.
