Ah, the second series of that [The Americans] has just started hasn't it? Thought it was quite good but sort of flew under the radar a bit. Seems ages ago it was on.
Currently midway through season 4 for if one is a thieving internet urchin.
Another vote for Tom Hardy
Can pull off the ''public schoolboy ex bootie, looks good in a suit" very believably I think

I could totally go for Tom Hardy, but I think he's a bit too close to Daniel Craig tbh.

Cillian Murphy..?
+1
Bond is passe.
Bourne is where it's at 8)

We know it should be Fassbender however he's too serious an actor. It'd be like the Queen shopping at B&M
Fassbender also tasty. Not quite as tasty as Hiddleston though.
The scary thing is Hiddleston is younger than me. I can't believe Bond is going to be younger than me ๐ฅ #old
Me? I could be the first Bond who bats for the other team?
Rupert Friend or Tom Hardy.
To me, sporting that beard of his...Hardy would pull off the best grizzled ex-naval officer/ex-SBS psychopath. It'd be hilarious.
To fan the flames a bit, don't make Bond some posho ethnic minority or woman. Want to actually be a little subversive? Give him an apathetic, state school, "doing it because this is what I fell into" vibe.
Sam Heughan - though it might interfere with shooting Outlander
* Make Hardy look like this in the next film. Drop all the Martini and Aston Martin bollocks.
* Set it in ****stan or a similar shit hole.
* Rip off the character of Kurtz from Apocalypse Now/Heart of Darkness and apply it to Bond.
* Guest appearance from Bremner as Tony Blair. ๐

Bond would never have had a tattoo.
Bond would always be clean shaven.
Bond would never wear a necklace, let alone more than one.
I think they should mix it up a bit, and cast a lady bond.
Or a mega gay mincing "fabulous" bond.. no one would expect that, especially enemies of the country.

Like he'd never be a woman or black.
I just think that giving the impression he's from a state background in the next film would be more interesting than either of the above. It's usually working class lads who on the whole... get dragged into doing Britains dirty business, not poshos or women.... so why not show it.
Again, I have had enough of toff bond.

Roger Moore?
I have had enough of toff bond.
The Bond that Fleming penned wasn't toff, he was someone who felt a little on edge in the world he was in, and for a while, never happier than in the rose clad cottage of Aunt Charmian in Pett Bottom.
This is why Daniel Craig or Timothy Dalton are the best film Bonds to date. They always had that slight chip on the shoulder.
Sadly out of print now, but my treasured copy is in the study!

Peaty's gonna be looking for job
Daniel Craig
Craig still felt too establishment to me.
Or a mega gay mincing "fabulous" bond.. no one would expect that, especially enemies of the country.
That's Hiddlestone!
They can't go from Craig who bought a bit of menace back to bond to Hiddlestone, the least intimidating actor who's name has been mentioned for the role. It wouldn't work, the americans would hate him, and frankly so would I.
