I love my Chromebook, but at nearly three years old, it is showing its age. Battery life still great, performance pretty good, but its gradually falling apart. Its had several repairs and bodges, but the monitor hinges are failing and the case is starting to crack.

I'd like another Chromebook, but I've started using a DSLR and my wife also does some basic video editing. (nothing fancy)

So I've reluctantly come to terms with the fact I need to go back to Windows. I use a Lenovo T440 at work and my gut instinct is saying go for one of them.

I'm out of touch with Windows and processors/ram requirements. What should I be looking for? I don't want to spend loads of cash but it needs to be able to do a five minute video edit without grinding to a halt! I'd like to think I can get something decent for £500...?
