long and short, bought a smart trainer with the aim of zwifting in the evenings and then found out my home office PC is too slow for zwift and not the sort of machine that can be upgraded.

i'm now trawling through google results and ebay looking for a refurb PC, i was going to replace the office one next year anyway so may as well buy now, does anyone have any recommended sites or sellers i can look at?

I have used Tier1Online for all our business PCs and use one for our home TV too. They just take old office kit, do it up and sell it on. Been spot on. Easy to plug a low end graphics card in as well for a bit more oomph

As others had said, ITZoo and Tier1 both self refurb corporate machines and are decent value and OK to deal with

Just bear in mind that the advice of buying an office PC and putting a cheap graphics card in it worked on the assumption you could get a cheap graphics card. Vice versa the advice that laptops were the worst value option was based on the days when a GTX1060 didn't go for >£250 on ebay.

~£450, and the 1650 is about on a par with the 1060, 970 etc

Depends on your budget and what else you need to do on it (i.e. disregard this if you were looking for a big refurbished workstation PC's).

We've had two laptops from laptopsdirect and they evbeen fine so far although the first one was late being delivered. That was probably due to demand during the first lockdown and they did keep us well informed about delays. The refurbished phone has been a different story, stopped charging after seven months and it's taking an age to get it repaired and they've messed us about a bit eg we'll take up to ten days to fix it, you'll hear from us by the 10th. No news by the 10th, phoned up. It's ten working days, not actually ten days like it said in the email.

If it's just for zwift then apple TV 4k is an extremely good value option.

What is required for Zwift that means your old machine is no good?

Processor, graphics etc.

Or is your old machine ancient and/or particularly low-spec?
