About to apply for a job, it needs two references. One of them works at the company I want to work for, is it acceptable to name them? (Have their permission etc, just not sure whether it's something that's frowned upon).

I would name both references. If you don't name them, how will they be contacted. A reference from within your current employer should be fine as long as your boss doesn't find out.

Fine no problem assuming it is relevant to job and not just your mate bigging you up
