Recommend me somewhere for a weekend away

I’m turning 40 next month. MsGinge has decided she is going to take me and the kids (7,3 and 0.25) away for the weekend and asked if there is anywhere in particular I’d like to go. I’ve got one or two ideas but thought I’d ask here to see what other people might come up with.

Short list of requirements are that it should be suitable, ish, for a family trip towards the end of February. So having some kid friendly activities nearby would be good; ideally with indoor options for if the weather turns out to be complete bobbins.

If it could feature some nice (hilly) scenery and a few spots for some tasty grub that would work well for me. As would a sensible travel time from Cambridge.

we've always found Yorkshire has something for everyone, indoors and outdoors, very accessible, even from Cambridge 👍

I went to Lille for the weekend, from Cambridge. It's possibly not the most picturesque place in the world but it is quite a change from Cambridge. Drove down, but you could also take the train (unless you have a dog).

Is there no one you can dump the kids with for the weekend?

Then the world is your oyster
