Not for the rear but I did make a pod for my Cali Beach. Some photos on another forum here:

Its made from the lightweight ply and had the cut edges 'banded' rather than the more normal knock on T trim. All glued and biscuit jointed construction for strength.
For a rear unit have a look at Slidepods http://slidepods.co.uk/ Only ever heard good things about his work.
Anyone ever made something like this?
For a start they are ridiculously over charging. They have a fridge that I've just (friday) paid £300 for that they are advertising with the VW tax at a mid blowing £600!!! I've got a sample bottle, where should I post it?
