I bought a grade B cast iron Fired Earth bath direct from the foundry approx 8 - 10 years ago for not much money. Its a beautiful bath and im not wanting to replace it but its started going a little rusty on the bottom where water pools when drained.

Does anyone have experience of having a cast iron bath re enammaled in situ?Has it lasted okay? what sort of cost are we looking at?

TIA!

I got a DIY kit for a very old, victorian bath

Apparently it is difficult to put on, but responds well to a light sanding after to take out any dimples.

Mine has lasted a good 6 years post treatment so far.

Kit cost about £60 if I remember right

A family member just had her bath re enameled in situ. She was adament she wanted it done and paid £300 for the privilege.

Taken for a ride if you ask me!
