Dear All,
I'm directing a theatre production for the biology department of Manchester Uni(don't ask...), which starts next week, and I'm looking for a large desk to borrow/hire for all next week. Pretty random I know, but the one we have previously used has been axed as part of the uni's cuts....
Were such an item to be found in the garage/box room/study of a stw forumite I would be happy to pick it up within a reasonable radius of Manchester (I'm staying on Oxford road..) Sunday night or 1st thing Monday morning. It would need to be freestanding, and the kind of desk a doctor in a fertility clinic might use (again.. don't ask...)
An outside chance this, but you never know....

You're at a University; probably contains the largest selection of desks in Western Europe!
Wander round the campus, and go and ask at the porters lodges in each building.
You would think it would be that easy wouldn't you?
However it seems all spare furniture is held centrally, and needs the right paperwork weeks previously..
Plus it's freshers week, and the place is hectic and rammed...
