I'm trying to balance my heating system. The lock valves on my towel heaters are anticlockwise thread i.e. anticlose wise to close. Are radiator lock valves normally anticlock wise thread?? I cannot see think of any reason why this would be.

Assuming you mean the normal rad valves, mine are CW to close.
