i only plan to load the talktoaster or similar UK or even just regioanl soutrh west map, not heaps, can anyone tell me if an 8gb is plenty or would i be better with 16gb?

Not 100% sure but if buying new the price is minimal so may as well go with a 16? I've read somewhere even if the actual data isn't over 8gb it sometimes has troubles with 8gb ones.
I'd play it safe and go 16.

run my garmins (touring and 800) on 4GB 🙂

Ive got the UK pretty good detail from dcrainmaker's instructuions on a 4gb with plenty of space. But just get the biggest thats reasonably cheap.
