Antisocial behaviour on Epsom Common, Wells Road entrance.

Walkers, dog walkers, cyclists, horse riders please be aware. I have just returned from a walk on Epsom Common around the Evelyn Way footpath. Some one has run very thin copper wire, at varying heights across several of the main footpaths and bridle ways. It is almost invisible because of the autumnal colours. Managed to cut and clear several metres in that area but do not know how far or where it goes onto. Has been reported to police and they are sending officers over. Please be vigilant.

Idiots. Local to me someone setup a wildlife camera on a trail that kept getting trapped. Got footage of a local duffer dragging logs over trails etc and he was recognised, the footage passed to the police who paid him a visit to have a nice chat about his actions.

Thanks for letting everyone know. I didn't make it quite that far yesterday and instead bimbled about by the Hogs Mill River but it is potentially on the cards for tomorrow.

Bloody idiots, that's a nice common space used by everyone, I really struggle to see why people do that sort of thing

I live in hope that some trap layers get convicted and get to play "pick up the soap" for say 12+ months, even if their actions haven't cause serious injury or worse, to try knock this crazy "just for the lols" action on the head.

Might happen if a horse rider got caught in a trap, if it was a mtber then no chance whatsoever.

Shit , that's made me very worried. Always happens somewhere else not on my doorstep.
Can you give coordinates, dot on a map etc so that I can clear some as well?

Well done to the OP for clearing it. About a mile from my house. Hopefully, Police involvement will scare them off.

It seems it is happening out towards Elmbridge/Esher as well

I've come across a lot of sabotage on one of my local trails in Guildford, first time I was over the bars into the bushes! I go down so slowly now that its not fun, I just clear it away every time I go down now.

appears it was a deliberate act.

**** me these rozzers are pinsharp aren't they? Anyone without years of intensive, police training would have mistakenly concluded that it fell out of someone's pocket, bounced into the air and tied itself tightly around two nearby trees.
