Yes, but they're Terra Nova so customer service inspired by OnOne and stitched wonky....

Never mind the stitching. At those prices you could probably afford the three extra full set of poles that you'd need to get you through a full weekend of breakages.

Things must have changed in the 20 years or so since I bought my Terra Nova Solar 2.

No problems with it whatsoever and it's been used on plenty of KIMMs / OMMs in some pretty filthy conditions.

I'm being harsh - they are ok.

At the budget end of things, I think Vango rule. We've a Vango Scafell in the house, equivalent of those Hoolies and it's just marginally a better tent with much better customer service, and usually £10 less (we paid £67 in May).

I believe that's exactly the case, yes.

Things have changed.

Won't buy again.

Poor customer service and poor product these days.

That's a real shame they've gone all "OnOne / Planet X".

Take this PSA as a warning to avoid temptation then.

They do a 30% discount on all their tents if you trade an old one in, so you can get a wider choice. One of poles did bruise over at the join and start to crack. Unable to prove it hadn’t been allowed to snap in to place we had to buy a replacement set. £70 from memory for a Solar Photon 2

Yeah they did that to me too. "Must have been your fault...." .

Second set I was absolutely fastidious over.

They lasted a week .

The cause of failure was blindingly obvious as a mechanical engineer studying the poles daily watching the failure propagate.

Offered my opinion and got a reply of basically....poles are 60 quid a set.

Threw the tent in the bin and will not spend a penny with them. Since the venture capitalists bought in they have lost the plot.

Glad I ignored the Terra Nova evangelists and went for a Vango F10 😀 been excellent!! Have 2 different sizes now, also currently enjoying the 1st night on our new Vango Airbeam.
