Still not had the email yet. I wonder how many £20 items were "bought" yesterday?

I suspect somebody is wearing his ass like a hat today.

Unless you have spades for feet I wouldn't get too upset, salomons are crazy wide.

I bought a pair a few weeks back to tide me over while waiting for warranty replacements from Walsh (again). My feet were in bits by the end of the first run, soooooo much movement inside the shoe.

It goes on for a few pages...

Some people are so entitled. It was obviously a mistake and we all took a punt on it. No need to whine.

Speed cross wide? I bought a size 10.5 as I'm normally between a 10 and an 11 and they were so tight I need a 12 just to stop my toes crossing over themselves.

Speed cross wide?

Yeah, I raised an eyebrow at that. I find them narrow, and was of the understanding that was a universal acceptance that you needed to size up .5+ to get the width.

It was obviously a mistake
Why? I've had Salomon shoes from sports direct for a similar price.

Why?

Because every single shoe they sold was reduced to £20.

Merrells, Salomon, Muddy Fox ....all £20.

Plus the price was different on F&T/USC/SD's actual website.

As I said on the earlier. I found them wide as well.

Interestingly everyone says size up. They said the same on the raidlight shoes earlier in the week.

I didn't and they fit

Makes me think folks on here just have bigger feet than they think.

Possibly.

All I know is I am 9 in Nike, Inov8, Keen, Scarpa, Haglofs, Puma, TNF, Converse....but always 9.5 in Merrell, Salomon and Adidas.

Which assumes you looked, i had a few doubts because the boots i "bought" had a fair chunk off, but came in limited sizes so took the opinion that f&t were shifting old stock on Amazon so never bothered to dig much deeper

I can't wear adidas
Too narrow. Even sizing up doesn't work they are just the wrong last because they end up too long then and my feet rattle about and my toe nails fall off.

Footwear is much like helmets and simply sizing up does not maketh the shoe fit ime

I agree trail rat. I love adidas but all my ones are loose at the heel but fit in the toes. Nike flynit are much better but the best fit for me is vibram five fingers.

Just had this email from field & trek, I smell bullshit

I am John with F&T customer service department and I’m contacting you regarding your recent order with us.
I have just been advised by our warehouse that due to a recent server maintenance our stock levels have not been updated and stock was wrongly allocated. Unfortunately this item is currently out of stock.
We sent this notification earlier, but due to a technical glitch, apparently the message didn’t go through.
We have been trying to sort out new stock delivery, but currently have not yet heard back from our suppliers.
Therefore in order to avoid any further delays we have processed a full refund for you.
I sincerely apologize for this mix-up and I have informed our IT department about the issue so they make sure this does not happen again.
We can assure you that none of this was anticipated and we would never deliberately and knowingly cause such an inconvenience to a customer.
We sincerely apologize for the delay in informing you. Thank you very much for your kind understanding.

I just got the same email and thought liars.

Surely you'd get more respect if you just said sorry, pricing error, can't sell at that price. Apologies

Yeh, exactly. I've replied to the email and said that I thought the order was cancelled due to a pricing error as every single item on their site was £20 at the time of ordering. But thanks for letting me know.

I don't expect a response 🙂

And they have them in stock on the Kickback Sports amazon site, also owned by sports direct.

Hi John,

I thought this was a pricing error but I’m glad you said it’s just a stocking error. The items are now showing as in stock.

No need to refund please just dispatch

Best

T

Isn't he just. Pricing issues, no problem, I knew I was taking a punt. Lying about it afterwards makes me want to mess with them though.

Hello,

Thank you for your message. We can confirm the items are out of stock in our store.

Kind Regards,

Hi John,

The product is showing both in stock on Amazon & your website

Based on this and your email I shall order another pair at the increased price.

If this pair arrive I assume you will refund the difference as it is a stock issue and not price?

Best

T

Is it though? It's showing on kickback sports but not field & trek as far as I can see - not that it makes a difference as it's all the same company anyway.

And John hasn't replied to me which makes me even more angry 🙂

Edit: I can see them on the field & trek website but not on their amazon site. I've emailed John to let him know 🙂

Just dropped "john" an email expressing my delight at it being a stock issue rather than a pricing balls up. I look forward to receiving the shoes. I can understand a computer cock up but am less than impressed at being spun the load of crap that was in his email.

I got the email from John as well, can't be arsed to do anything else though. SD are just really shit at customer service, I tend not to use them anymore. Don't expect anything less from them.

I am not expecting a reply. But then my reply was fairly self contained.
