I havn't been able to find out if it is a five watt as the ALDI torch was last autumn, or if it is a three watt.

Either way it looks good enough for an extra source of light for commuting.

Cheers for the tip.

I'm no expert, but I was interested in this.
Can someone check my maths.

The quoted burn time of 3 hours if it's running from a single AA battery suggests lower wattage.

2800mah = 1.8Wh @ 1.5v
2800mah = 2.3Wh @ 1.2v

So if 1.8W you would only get 1h from each battery.

Of course, they could be lying about the burntime and if I'm wrong about the number or type of batteries, then obviously that changes things.

AlexSimon - my ALDI torch has a high and a low setting, perhaps they're quoting from this?

Alex - assuming 2800mAH discharging in one hour = 2.8A, then at 1.5V that would be 4.2W or at 1.2A 3.36W. Less some for losses and efficiencies of course.
If it's over three hours the wattage is a third of that roughly.
But 2800 is a AA rechargeable - a primary cell will be more powerful.
Also it says batteries included, not battery - it may be running more than one cell.

I bought one of the last lot, which was a 3w CREE. It uses 3xAAA batteries.

3yr warranty on the LIDL one I am told.

Anyway, it feels solid and well made, here's some pics.

Not sure it actually chucks out any more light than the Tesco TBH, albeit the beam is betters, but battery life will be 50%

Does anyone know of a bar mount that will fit one of these? Thanks.

Probably the Twofish lock blocks, or the DX equivalent.
