My two year old son likes our printer..
traditionally if we ever lose anything the first place to look is inside the printer..
A moment ago he sat on my lap and started talking about the paper that comes out from the printer..
'Yes' I say, 'that's right, that's where the paper comes out if mummy and daddy need a picture or some writing from the laptop..'
'yes' he replies, eyeing the machine with his intense childlike curiosity..
'how's it work..?'

Whatever you do, DO NOT answer. You'll enter the "why" loop, and it's almost impossible to get out of it. Give him the manual and leave him to it 🙂

The other day my nephew (2 1/2) wanders into the kitchen and see's my little ones balance bike, looks a me

Hide all your tools he'll take the printer apart! I disassemble my dad's posh tape deck (early 80's) to see how it worked aged 5 ish 😉
Tell him tiny elves live inside and they draw the images...
