Still haven't read the whole thread, but I've just remembered that my sister was bought a private plate by her fiance with her year of birth and initials including middle name.
When they got married, instead of getting shot of the plate with the wrong initials on she and her husband changed their names to double barreled names, but in the wrong order because his last name started with the same letter as her middle name.
I don't get on with my sister, she is a moron, it may have clouded my thoughts on private plates.
My favourite recent sighting was on an RS4. Plate was TH15 GOZ. Which I thought was quite neat.
There is also a local car with something like RS S1X. Unfortunately it’s on an A3 or something. I always wonder whether he used to have an RS6, or whether he is working up to one.
A lot of the X5 type plates are dealer registered and come with the car when new. There always seem to be a lot of S2000s with plates like this.

we have a MO57 BHP in our car park at work - fair play that it's on a GT-R so it does indeed have a lot of BHP, however I'm sure the 911 Turbo that's sometimes there actually has more so perhaps they should swap?
Thinking about it I maybe able to get something with 106BHP in it so I can also show off.
I have no issue with company ones - a friend works for pimlico plumbers and their plates are mostly toilet related (think his is BOG ### or something simular)

Mine cost £250. For a start you can't tell the age of the car, mine is nearly 11 years old now but looks immaculate and almost new. You may call that vanity if you wish.
I disappointed a friend who has a nice A7 and was thinking about getting a private reg to hide it's age when I told him I always assume private plate = first production year for that model.
If anyone wants an Arnold Clark sticker removing from their car I'll take great pleasure in removing it personally.
My last 4 cars have all come form Arnold Clark and the sticker has come off before leaving the dealership, every time.
There use to be a dealership in Grangemeouth (I think) that had a yellow logo they put on the mudflaps of every car. I can't understand why people would want to drive a mobile advertisement.

I bought one. Kept it for 2 cars then sold it as I got bored of it. Made £500 profit.
My dad bought one too, he still has it but will soon no longer be driving so he's looked into selling it. He's had offers that would give him well over £2k profit!
Most are naff, especially the badly spaced ones IMO. But if someone wants one, for whatever reason then crack on. Makes it easier to remember it if they crash into you!

From memory the best plate I ever saw was rearranged to read "2 1nch" Not sure what the message was there....
And the only other I can remember seeing was POR 928S on a Porsche, well, 928S.

Not entirely sure what those have to do with putting a personalised plate on a car, the car still has the manufacturer’s name on it, however, getting your own name embroidered onto your garments might be an equivalent, and maybe having stickers made up with your name or nickname and sticking them onto your bike....
Personally, as far as personalised plates are concerned, I’ve just spent ten minutes looking for the rat’s ass I couldn’t give, it bothers me not one jot, unlike people who actually [i]drive[/i] like dicks.
Well according to the latest Tax evasion figures (£107m loss by changing the system from paper based discs to ANPR) it seems like all these idiotically spaced redg plates that make the names of King Kings Dog’s previous owners great Aunt should be called into question if the ANPR can’t decipher the redg numbers..
I wonder if an FOI should be called to see how many ANPRs can’t recognise redg numbers, be interesting to find out (well to me anyway since it makes my nose curl upwards)
When I first moved to Ely I thought that a lot of locals must really like it here as there are many plates ending in ELY. But it's a code from Essex which is the next county.
So another person here to admit to a personal plate. It’s sort of a personal joke to me and about 10colleges worldwide that understand it. It didn’t cost much but makes me smile every time I see it.
There really is much more in the world to get wound up about than what's on someone elses number plate 😐

USK plates are popular in Usk, especially as it's a wealthy area that definitely does the whole "keeping up with the Jones'" thing. See quite a few FOD ones round the Forest too, but that could be because my dad's car (the one without his personal plate) is from there and has FOD in it.
Truck drivers of course go further still and have number plates made up with their actual name which they stick inside the screen in their cabs, forcing you to know it despite not really giving a toss.
A student at my college has a plate made up with his name on it in his screen. Only, he's only 17 and drives a Vauxhall Astra, not an artic.

I have a private plate, but then I am a bit of a Richard at times, so it evens out.
A couple local to where i live got divorced and argued over the private plates B008 and 8OOB which were apparently worth a fortune together, so judge did the only fair thing........and gave them one each!!
