The NZ armed forces have huge respect for the Maori traditions, especially when it comes to honouring the dead.
I was in the NZ Navy for a short while, once we had to recover the body of a solo sailor whose yacht had sunk in the Tasman Sea during a meaty storm.
When the ship came back to Auckland, that guy got a full on haka when his body was taken ashore.
I wonder what the symbolic role of the sniper wearing the gillie suit is who leads the hearse through the soldiers performing the Hakka?
Perhaps one of the fallen soldiers was a sniper?

That was awesome. And to be pedantic, it's never The Haka, although the one the All Blacks do (the Kamate Haka) is very well known. There are many many Haka for many occasions, that is likely the regimental one or traditional for the soldier's tribe.
