Which begs the question as to why she waited until after the statute of limitations had passed before embarking on her legal challenge
Here's a bit of homework for your soul. Try to put yourself in the position of Virginia (or indeed any of the many many trafficked women who've been victims of Epstein and Maxwell) and think about the question you've asked. Could it be that there's for instance a cognitive dissonance? That they've been persuaded and told repeatedly by people they think are their friends that they want this? that they aren't being exploited? that they're special? and so on and on and on...And that when you do finally realise what actually happened to you and you confront your abuser; you're forced to sign documents and agreements by powerful and expensive lawyers that you think will mean you'll go straight to prison if you utter a word about it to anyone ever again...
These are damaged, abused and vulnerable people.
What's that Robin Williams quote?: "You have no idea of the personal battles people are fighting when you meet them; be kind"
Oh, The grand old Duke of York,
He had 12 million quid,
He gave it to somebody he didn't know,
For something he never did............
My nephew in his working life has come across many ‘well known’ people and I think he said Andrew was the worst.
obviously never met the leeds squad under david 0leary then!
Oh, The grand old Duke of York,
He had 12 million quid,
He gave it to somebody he didn’t know,
For something he never did…………
That deserved more attention. Good work!

It obviously didn't get much attention the first time it was posted as it was posted again. Even that second post didn't get enough attention to prevent it being posted a third time. 🙂
Meh. 😉
I've been listening to a lot of the older stuff on LBC, and one thing that summed up Andrew for me was James O'Brien going on about Andrew asking permission from his mum to go to his dads funeral dressed as an Admiral.
Sounds funny, but sums up his mindset pretty much to a t.

Or another variation
Oh, The grand old nonce of York,
He had 10 thousand men,
He had some very young girls as well,
But he can't remember when…………

I reckon I would've checked with my step mum if I wanted to dress as an admiral at my dad's funeral. I don't think she would've minded, but it is best to ask.
That's a lot of pogs he wears on his jacket. He must be good.
Do we have any official reference for the figure of 12 million quid?
None!? So it could have been 100 grand, for example?
I seriously doubt it'll be 100k, the defendants lawyers were basically no win no fee, so costs would be wrapped up in the payout, they would also get a percentage of any payout, so the settlement had to make it worthwhile to settle now.

One is unfortunate, two looks like carelessness...

I'm not a conspiracy theory fan, but this is an "interesting" development. Wasn't sure whether to post it on this thread or the Trump thread
I’m not a conspiracy theory fan, but this is an “interesting” development.
I’m not a conspiracy theory fan, doesn’t mean I don’t like a good conspiracy theory. 😉
It is interesting. Even if nothing more then coincidence, the timing is odd.
I see the Queen chose Prince Andrew to escort her to today's memorial.
That's quite a big **** you to the victims
It's an absolute disgrace.
did he get to dress up like an admiral?

Thought that was an odd move too.

No.
She shouldn't have to be alone (again), but it's a poor choice, isn't it.
Thought that was an odd move too.
He was sat the other side of the isle in the church though. Perhaps just unthinking planning on the grounds he also lives at Windsor.
Perhaps just unthinking planning
I'm pretty sure I've read that Andrew is a favourite of the Queen's I tend towards thinking it was planned.
Well that was the quickest public rehabilitation since Priti Patel
On the other hand ….
He is the only 1 of her offspring who couldn’t find anyone to go with him
I pointed this out to my wife last night when we saw it on the news (she's a Royalist) and she tried to stick up for him but as far as I am concerned it utterly stinks, disgraceful, shocking. Yes he should have been allowed to attend the service, but walking her in and back out? Come on.
That’s quite a big **** you to the victims
Really, from what we know he's slept with a sex trafficking victim and paid for it financially & reputationally but apparently people still get in a froth because he got to escort his mother to & from his father's memorial service.
I thought the froth was because he’s slept with a sex trafficking victim and paid for it financially & reputationally and yet he got to escort his mother to & from his father’s memorial service.

Thats what the RF specialise in. They really don’t care about anyone but themselves. Never had and never will. The sooner we can get rid of them and recover the assets they have stolen over time the better.

I thought that we are paying for it, financially? I haven't looked into it but honestly I'd be amazed if we haven't somehow footed the bill.

Amen to that.
I'm coming to think of Andrew as an asset to the "Republican cause" really.
As for that colonial Caribbean tour... we really need this lot gone so the country can at least begin to drag itself into the 21st century.
I mean look at this. It's embarrassing.

That seams to be a little unfair, while randy andy gets to dress up as an admiral, poor little willie only gets to be doorman at the ritz.
1066... Time to end another royal linage.lol

As far as I can tell the sole purpose of the rf is to embarrass the nation whilst taking vast sums of money for themselves.
[devil’s advocate]
Get Andrew to escort the Queen in through the side door to keep him away from the crowds and cameras out the front?
Obviously doesn’t account for the cameras inside, but still…lesser of two evils?
I mean look at this. It’s embarrassing.
I know, could they not afford a car with seats?
Whose idea was the colonial ruler cosplay event?

Because that's what's holding us back? Really?
This is my favourite picture from the latest tour...

Beyond belief really. I can only assume their PR company hates them.
leffeboy
Because that’s what’s holding us back? Really?
It's deeply symbolic of a rot within the UK, yes.
Its one big brick in the wall.
Because that’s what’s holding us back? Really?
Who we going to blame when they're gone and we're still in the utter shit, living in President Johnson's sunlit uplands?
First they came for the Royals....
(Tongue in cheek)
Beyond belief really. I can only assume their PR company hates them.
The PR guy was seen wandering off, a faraway look in his eye, with a bottle of Scotch and a service revolver
The whole thing was a PR debacle from start to finish.
Perfect imagery for ‘Global Britain’
Prince Andrew has tested positive for covid and miss Queens Platinum Jubilee celebration
Covid?, very convenient.
I expect he was quite surprised when he was told he'd tested positive for a test he hadn't done.
Covid?, very convenient.
Keeps him in the public eye but without the negative connotations. One small step at a time and he'll be back in the fold before we know it.
Covid? cough.
