A bit despondent trying to get tyres to mount.
I have just bought a Stanley compressor from Screwfix, which unfortunately only comes with a Shrader valve fitting. Anyone know where I can but a Presta hose/chuck? I cant see anything on google.
Topeak superchuck, just butcher it with a bit of hose and some jubilee clips onto the fitting that's on the schraeder one.
As above whatever track pump head you like the most and just fit it to a cheap inflator (normally lasted a year in a 2 man workshop before it died, mainly from getting dropped on the floor/stood on), gauge probably wont be that accurate, but if its just for seating tubeless is cheap and functional.
Park INF-2 is handy with a quick connect on an auto retract reel, but a bit expensive for home use.
Also take the valve cores out to increase flow, for max flow I use a blowgun with a rubber tube straight onto the valve, flows more than an inflator head.
Decathlon - it's not perfect but it works fine and is £4.99. Chop your existing hose and it'll fit straight on.
Lidl had the adaptor in last week.
I got years ago from CRC they were just little brass adapters and they work fine.
You want one that works with the valve core removed - not all will fit.
Handy hint. You don't want to be using the inflator to mount the tyres. Rather, remove the valves and use the high-pressure blower thing that you will have had in your kit. For best results, unscrew the nozzle from the end of the blower and stich the valve stem in the threaded hole and blow. This will get the absolute maximum force of air into your tyre, without restrictions. The tyre will sest on the bead instantly, assuming you have made sure the tyre sits either side of the vale base (the most common reason not to seat first time). Once seated, screw the valve back in and inflate using the proper attachment. To change to presta you just need a little brass screw on adaptor that costs a couple of quid. Your LBS will have them for sure.
Ours is called a lightning valve adapter. Its brass and clips into the chuck but pushes onto the valve rather than screws and has a rubber seal.
