A slightly improved situation in Feb and March as the weather improves and borders start to operate a little more effectively. Things will still be worse than they have been in the past, but because its slightly better than January the papers will be proclaiming that the doom mongers were wrong and that plucky Britain is making it on its own.
The sense that the situation might have turned a corner by May with more vaccinations. Prices on goods will have increased but people will be a bit more used to it by now, and blaming shops / distributors as "using covid / Brexit as an excuse to raise prices".
Over summer people will be acting as if everything is back to normal, but by autumn there will be an increase in cases which will be a surprise to Joe Public who by now has completely forgotten the last 12 months.
Over this period, whoever is now in charge will have done something even more despicable, and there will be a 200+ page thread on STW discussing it.

I can’t cope with much more doom and gloom so I’m going for:
- The EU and U.K. use some common sense and get things sorted
- The Oxford vaccine gets approved before Xmas and we vaccinate 10m by the end of January
- People limit contact over Xmas to protect their loved ones and medics who have no choice but to care for people who have covid
- Social media is dramatically curtailed in order to curtail the commercialisation of negativity
- We don’t lose sight of what it’s felt like to see our friends and loved ones a lot less than we’d like
