Iv'e had 2. Not much though, £188 for one & £70 something for another.

Better than a poke in the eye & all that.

I wouldn’t bother personally, the settlements are usually fairly ‘mechanical’. It’s the sum of the premiums plus interest at a set rate. AFAIK there’s not much scope for damages or the like.

Only claim against it if you can prove the calculations are incorrect.

That means having access to all the data, the calculation method and the interest accrued over the period.

If its “way under” your expectations, read the remittance accompanying the offer to settle.. all the information is detailed out in there.

The FCA Ombudsman is there if you are entitled to PPI but have been refused it by the organisation, they will assess the case and make a decision (which is binding)

I’m not going to ask on what basis you feel you are entitled to “more” but you will only receive what is due according to the base agreed formulated calculation and nothing more.

Ahh, I didn't read the Q properly. I couldn't be arsed appealing against what they offered me.

Hi

My OH took a case to the ombudsman and won but this was where she (in my opinion) had a clear case to get PPI refunded and credit card company refused for some reason. In this case they didn’t offer her anything.

its taken over 2 years in total though

She had a copy of the paperwork where she’s ticked a box to say she didn’t want insurance but they still charged her.

The cheque just came this week.

Cheers

Steve
