That's an obscene amount of money.

You could fund a political party and still have a £100 million left.

Money doesn't buy you happiness but I'd give it a bloody shot!

I won £30 on the normal Lottery last week.
It's clearly a sign that I'm due a £110m payout.

Id buy a fully tricked out BMW and specifically not pay the subscription required to make the indicators work. Just because I can!

I could happily spend the rest of my days managing that much money in such a way as to support small charities and community interest groups.
And a nice little all weather bike park with magic carpet lift on a hill near my house…

The divorce rate for couples who have won 9 figures on the lottery in the UK is 90%. The one couple who have stayed together is the one that allowed themselves 20ish million, and then gave themselves jobs at a charity they set up to give the rest away.

Yeah, I read that interview with them. Exactly what I’d like to do. Probably more bikes though…

I'm not married to my Mrs of 15 years so it wouldn't even effect the divorce rate when I do a Houdini.

Money doesn’t buy you happiness

It buys bikes and cycling holidays which is as close to perfect as necessary.

That amount's well into **** Off territory.

Hang in there, andy - it might not be a lottery win but something will show up.

The divorce rate for couples who have won 9 figures on the lottery in the UK is 90%

If both halves subsequently end up with the golddigging peroxide blond(e) of their choice, maybe that works out for everyone involved?

No doubt it will be won by someone on the continent, as always seems to be the case with the big euro millions jackpots. I don't know if these things are won by some consortium or syndicate set up or an individual, but I hope it is a single person who wins/won.

I can’t even fathom that amount of money. Think I’d just become a hermit. Buy a house in the middle of nowhere with lots of land somewhere warm. Let it all grow wild and spend my days learning anything I fancy, get in great shape and spend lots of time with my kids.

Well I've not checked so can only assume that I've won. So once I get my mandatory divorce from Mrs jeffl I figured it would make sense to pay off close friends and family members debts, mortgages and give them some cash.

Wondering how this would work in reality, as I believe there are tax implications if you gift more than a few thousand.

I'd imagine that setting up a company or trust and then buying any properties/mortgages and debts, paying them off and effectively leasing properties to people for free indefinitely would be the best way forward.

Thinking outside the box, before you claim the money from Camelot or whoever pays it to you...

Could you simply say that your other family members/friends were all part of a syndicate you were running, and thier percentage contribution to the winning ticket was conveniently exactly accidentally on purpose, the amount you want to gift to them..

Therefore camelot would pay out the winnings tax free from source to several individual parties?

Or some other way to ensure that they get thier share before the money hits your personal accounts - you can't get taxed on it if you never had the money in the first place!

Then they just get a tax free lump sum to do with as they please, and you have no tax liability for making gifts.

If you've got that much money you just overpay them by 60% and let them sort out the tax with the help of your accountant.

They'd never have to pay for holidays or building work or cars or whatever because you could just pay for them - it could be truly magnificent.

I didn't win (obvs) but if I did THIS was on the shopping list along with a couple of other tasteful things from their current inventory.
