Anyone got some nice examples of portfolios, as nice as the below example it is I find it to "stylised" seen it before, fancy logo, average table idea, nice render, boring use of in design. Anyone got any really great examples, from graphics through to industrial design. Oh and apologies if the below is your work ๐ณ
Hi tails, i consider myself a fine artist, however I have been commisioned by various big companies for my graphics style. All I can say is a designer lives and dies by his/her portfolio. Also it's important to pitch your portfolio at the client, the example you have shown may not be inspiring in design terms but may communicate to the client everything that it needs to. Often portfolios can look too fussy. Keep it simple keep it neat. I've just been building my new website, still in progress (hope to do more tommorow) it's difficult making an online portfolio to suit everyone. Big clients like universal/KIA/mac cosmetics music have been positive about the colours and layout were as people buying pencil drawings prefer a more simple approach and look.
have you got a website/online portfolio catflees46?
less can be more - i submitted a rather thin A4 file for inspection recently which passed with flying colours - where as the fresh faced uni bod who submitted a holdal full of ring binders & files was there for a good while attempting to explain it all !
