A stormy night in Morzine last week. It was pitch black before the flash, the amount of light was amazing.

Great caterpillar pic, and I'm so envious of the sparrowhawk/crow pic.

Not the best quality, but the fact that they allowed me to get on the floor to take the pictures without hopping off!

Elifin - On't canal in Leeds round Burley way. I wouldn't exactly say it was beautiful though (but I really like all those crappy areas with a bit of inustrial history).

Creg - same tree no? Near Kirkham Priory? I might be wrong!

Oh my.

I may be coming up to the North in a few weeks, to visit a friend in the beautiful city of Bradford. I think I'll have to make a special visit to the canal. You see, I too am fond of such industrial decay.

Elfin, if you're a fan of that sort of stuff then it's a lovely walk/ride down that stretch of the canal from Kirkstall down into town. Loads of interesting things down there. My favourite bit is probably the huge substation between Kirkstall and Armley - this is next to the Canal on a service road which runs parallel to it. No pics sorry - need to get down there one night - looks great all lit up.

here

It's also worth checking out Eastmoor Campus up in Adel. It's an old Borstal which has been deserted - looks like a ghost town. Nature is rapidly reclaiming it - very eerie.

If you're taking the bike then I can put you together a nice route which links them together - let me know.
