As a casual observer I fail to find any problems at all with the cropping of the reservoir photo above. But then I'm just an amateur who's been taking photos for the best part of twenty five years, so what do I know?

I rather like what I've managed to do with this pic of my niece dancing at a wedding. I think the photo was taken by my wife, and was a bit of a 'nothing shot' as it stood - I used Aperture to play around with exposure settings, cropped it, converted to black and white, then used a brush tool to 'remove' the black and white from her dress.

Being colour blind, I generally find it difficult to play about with photos in this way, so using black and white is a good way of overcoming that particular snag.

Not that proud of these, I just find them interesting. The middle one's missing a small terrier scampering along in front of the handlebars.

Thanks folks 😀

stuartie_c - really like the pic of the cams. And the one after makes me feel queasy!

Here's another from me - most of the way up the horrendous slog of a push to Bram Rigg Top in the Howgills - looking back towards the Lakes. Worth it for the downhill though I'm not sure my GF agreed. 😛

If you get a ruler and align it with the summit of Dodd wood and Skiddaw summit you will have found the trail/ridge (clue) 😉

This thread is fantastic, great to see its still going. The quality of the pics is immense. I don´t think that many people would vote against giving top prize to Grum, (your photos are so consistantly fantastic and the climbing one is my fav so far)but there´s so many cool photos.

[img] [/img]
[img] [/img]

And I took the same location as the last one in monochrome which I liked but my GF didn´t.

That baby elephant is great, something really human about the scene somehow! I took some new ones the other day that I liked...

Don´t know what´s going on here, maybe a jilted lover? Either way it must have been a shock when they opened the front door!
[img] [/img]

Not so proud of my photo skills but my sneaking up skills are top notch. It was eating a bumble bee. Stunning things, there were hundreds flying about.
[img] [/img]

I like this one too. Looking over into Navarra.

Had some downhillers out recently and they did some sessioning on some corners... gave me a chance to take the same shot with different settings and play around with things. Pretty pleased with these two, although the second one could benefit from a bit of a crop:

If you want to do mountainbiking pics then go on the Seb Rogers photo course. April & October.

You'll learn a lot!
