[#4965612]

Just been watching Peter Kay on Comic Relief. Does anybody still find him funny? All he has done for the last 10 years is regurgitate the same jokes.

Max and Paddys Road to Nowhere was OK too - but yep not very good since (even worse look what happened to the other one, Greggs adverts and then that dire Saturday night dating thing!)

pheonix nights was written by a load of stand ups from the north. they all fell out, which is why theres only two seasons.

Peter Kay is pretty good, and I can see what they were trying to do with that sketch. But it was bloody awful.

Phoenix Nights was the last good thing he did - as said above that was an ensemble piece.

Exactly another 1 trick pony, "He's back" errr no he never went away and never will as that's Ricky Gervais act, the only one he does.

It used to be funny - the 1st few, but is now no different to Children in need. I.e. not funny.

I like Miranda.
It's the only niche I subscribe to on here, apart from The Archers.

Used to work with a bloke who was on the same uni course with Pete Kay.
He used to sit in the corner in the pub with a notebook apparantly, writing down all the funny bits of conversation.

Good luck to the lad, at least he made a decent career out of it rather than just doing a load of coke and bitching about how he might have made it.

Wow. Miranda's lost a boatload of weight.

And Jennifer Saunders appears to have found it.

The singer out of James appears to be turning into Walter White.

pretty much every character is a stand up, and they all contributed; thats why theres so many lines in it.

and to out-pedant you, technically having three allows qualification by the veneric term 'load'

Yep!

The episode with the psychiatrist is excellent. 😀

A decent natural comic and very well written material.
Makes a nice change from the stereotypical fake cynicism that passes as humour at the moment.

Is anyone else having trouble understanding what John Bishop is saying?

I also think Miranda is very good; better than most rubbish...including this Mrs Brown tosh that's currently offending my ears.

I have to disagree, McIntyre is spot on. I have young children and this is my life in a nutshell.

Those singlies out their, choosing your matching pants and waterproofs for sundays ride....... you have no idea 😆

See, I don't find McIntyre brilliantly funny myself, but I don't understand the hatred - he's just a decent observational comic isn't he?
Does't do a lot for me, but technically, he's great.

Same with Mrs Brown.
It's just The Glums isn't it?
I'd have liked to have seen it as a stage show, I bet it was great.
The timing is spot on, but the material and characterisation leaves me cold without a pint.

I much prefer a classic clown - Stan & Ollie for preference, but Miranda's doing a decent job & is perfectly watchable.

Someone a bit surreal, Vic & Bob, Milligan, or something that's so well written that it just takes your breath away - Ronnie Barker's Stuff or Eric & Ernie.

Oooh, don't get me started. I've spent many, many years in Liverpool. Married a scouser, have plenty of scouse relatives and you know what? I've never, ever met anyone who talks like that. It's almost like he's putting it on but that can't be true can it?

And at some point I assume he says funny things, but I guess I've not been there at the right time yet.
