Pendle Halloween Festival

I’ve banged on about this in the past, but it is on again this Sunday.

Small event in the village hall and a macabre scarecrow competition. All sounds a bit “meh” I know, but given the grim goings on in 1612 and the beautiful setting it is a good half day out if you want to creep out your kids.

There’s Clarion House on the road up to Newchurch, as mentioned in this month’s Singletrack. Well worth popping in to if you want to eat your picnic in front of the fire whilst drinking pints of tea and soaking up the history.
