PayPal vs Ebay dispute - which is more effective at actually getting money back or goods sent from a buyers perspective? I have been too cosseted by the pleasantries stw transactions.

If you bought through ebay, go through ebay- the paypal payment will be put on 'hold' in the sellers account and probably send their balance negative. if you bought outside ebay (and didn't send via PP gift) go through paypal which'll have the same effect on the seller's account. Best to stick with ebay messages or PP's claim manager thinger (and keep it factual/non-personal) for any correspondence rather than emails or texts too.
Once the process has been started things usually move on apace... 😀
