I understand there is a car park at Seathwaite Farm, set up by the farmer for a small charge? Does anyone know if this is always open? Likely to be open next Thursday?

Yep, open all year round. Honesty tub in the field.
We parked our car there for a few days while off backpacking, he wouldn't take any more than 1 day's fee! Did give us a tour of his brand new tractor which he's just taken delivery of...

Ahh great thanks. So why do people park like bellends then and park on (block) the road? Does it fill up quickly?

Because people are too tight to pay, although as its an honesty box why can't they just be dishonest?
