Dear All,
I have an old set of Nikon fitting AI-S lenses that I can't use on my new D40X DSLR. Mainly Tokina ( 70-210 zoom, 28mm fixed, doubler, Vivitar 400mm and a Nikkor 35-70 zoom ).
They will fit on the body but manual focus with *no* metering. I thought they might fit using Aperature or Manual mode, but the meter won't sense anything which is what it says in the manual too sadly...... the loss of any metering makes me think I'd be better off passing them on.
Is there a market for older non AF/DSLR lenses?
Any tips on where/who without resorting to Fleabay?

I reckon ebay's probably the best place for them. Unless you know of any youngsters starting a photo course at college or somesuch? I wouldn't expect to get much for them either.... Sorry!
Have a look on www.talkphotography.co.uk there are loads over there that buy and sell lenses etc..
yes there is a market but the money is in the rarer lenses
check ebay out for prices
ok thanks, I'll take a look around. After posting I remembered a friend still has a Nikon D90 (?) pre digital, so if there's not too much interest I'll give them to him. He's always doing me favours as my plumber!!!
thanks for the tips,
cheers
