Spent time coaching a couple of my work team mates to work in ways that don’t come naturally to them but help them progress (think detail oriented engineers figuring out “pretty colours for directors” as a way to get their ideas funded.
Rode a new trail (to me) on Allermuir. Have had it in my mind since October, had to wait for dry conditions, diary alignments etc. Didn't disappoint. Earned myself a beer in the setting sun.
Got out for a long overdue evening ride on my local trails, even managed to get a last minute riding buddy along and squeezed in a pub stop. Bliss
Drank beer had a fire in the new fire pit.
Not as good as CPR or adopting. However reading this thread made me feel good!
Nowt really, but what a great thread. More of this please!
With business being very busy and my oldest daughter growing up (13) and being more independent we’ve hardly spent any quality time together recently. But tonight we went on a 25 mile road ride, stopped for ice cream from local diary farm. Nice spending time together away from the usual stresses of home/school/work.
Took my 12 yr old daughter to her horse riding lesson and managed to have an actual proper conversation with her about how she’s doing in her CAT tests.
our eldest son, Alexander, won the Nobel Chemistry Prize. So we all went over to Stockholm, for the presentation, and R.E.M. did an impromptu concert. Which was nice
Cut my nearest neighbours hedge and arranged to look at/work on a bike for the lady in my local shop (just hope it's not a BSO).

I was going to post some bollox about cleaning a tough climb after a long, hot ride, but I won't bother now...
Good Fast Show reference, BTW.
Similar to above [integra's!], trimmed my partner's hair with my clippers. It's funny cos it's something we agreed we'd never do, but she requested it and I did a good job. 😀
My youngest lad chased me down the driveway this morning as I was heading off to work and insisted on one last kiss and cuddle. On the way to work I thought that if for some horrible reason we didn't see each other again, it was a perfect moment.
I made sure a passenger on my coach got to his destination, after he’d been robbed.
And i also gave him a drink and £10.
Poor ****er was (absolutely literally) on his knees, nobody should have to do that.
Hopefully he can pass it along one day.
My four year old girl said to me, “Daddy, I’ve a surprise for you on Fathers Day but I can’t tell you. Are you excited? Father’s Day is like Mummy’s day but for Daddy’s” 🥰
I’ve actually be taking my lunch break and have taken to driving to some local jumps and having a right laugh.
Even only 25 mins and 3-5 miles is epic fun for a lunch break.
I’m now thinking about getting my coaster brake bike fixed up and jump ready 😂
Had a school refuser in class for a double lesson made her laugh and got her to answer two questions.
Then went for a gentle ride with the dogs.
Then did an hour at the pumptrack with a manual machine getting kids to practise their balance point.
Then had a wee post 2nd Jag collapse at home
Went for a late evening sunshine paddle up the river in a traditional dog-out canoe.

Had the dreaded "do you fix bikes" question off a neighbour a few weeks back. Took her sons BSO in to have a look but had none of the parts needed to sort it.
Kept forgetting to let her know i couldn't fix it and felt bad for not giving it back sooner so I ordered the bits that were needed (little odds n sods like missing barrel adjusters) and rather than just fix it myself have agreed that i will fix it with her son so he knows how to do it in future.
Yesterday I finally got round to taking the bathroom door off and trimming 6mm off the bottom by hand so that I could fit a new threshold strip between the hall and bathroom.
This morning I've pulled a muscle in my back by bending down slightly to get a pair of socks out of the drawer. Now sat in agony hoping the ibruprofen kicks in soon. Life is a rollercoaster! I'm only 35 - these sorts of things aren't meant to happen yet.
Yesterday I set up todays meeting at Shand to order my new bike.
A happy day
Yesterday I went for a ride at lunch with Mrs NBT, then later in the afternoon went and did some shopping for neighbours who need help as he's just had a heart attack and she's having treatment for cancer
Today I have read this thread and consecuive posts by @Schmiken anmd @LeeW made me happy.

A happy day

Helped delivery Bikeability course to the P7s at my kids primary school with some other volunteers over the past few mornings. L2 stuff, so teaching them how to ride safely on the roads. Lots of different levels of ability and confidence but great to see them grow and improve, even if it was only for a few hours. Better to be out in the sunshine on bikes than in the classroom!
Avoided eating cheese. So far.
Changed the spec on a made to measure shirt by adding an extra 1.5cm to the left hand cuff so there’s room for a watch.
Felt dirty at first but then remembered wearing half mast trousers and my elder sisters jumper (with patched elbows) at school so felt good about the obsessive detail.
After six months working in Bahrain in forty-plus temperatures with no cycling I got home last week to my family and first FS frame (Bird Aether 7). Today is my first day out of isolation and I'm sitting in the pub in Princetown sipping a Guinness and just about to throw myself down the Widowmaker.
This forum so needs a like button.

Oh, this needs unpacking further...It's going to be a Shug. Am I right?
I played a nice game of fetch in the back garden with our 4 month old WCS. He loves it, and is bringing the ball back all the time now. He is starting to have some effect on easing my anxiety. It's really quite nice when we take 10 minutes to play a little game together.
One thing you did today that made you feel good
Old friend will be meeting me for a pint tomorrow.
I accepted the notice of a problem employee, told them they'd never amount to much elsewhere and then pretended to beg them to stay.
Looks like I've done a good job of removing any nagging doubt they want to go and I reckon when I suggest it tomorrow they'll be happy to cut their notice short and save me 2 months pay.

Very hard to top that one!

🙂
Offered a recent graduate a job, and she accepted 🙂
I came back to read the STW forum for the first time in about, er, 10 years and it bought back a wave of nostalgia. L
Gave the dog a belly rub.
Pure ecstacy.
For the dog, not so much me hahaha 🙂
I've stuck to my "being nice" to people rule today.
Only my boss knows how close I came to going full "Falling Down" on some dumb ass who deserved it.
Completing Lutscher route on Zwift before dinner, z2 felt more like z4 two days after my second jab, having felt rough yesterday.
Woke up
Cleaned the flat
I lay on the sofa and my just 5 yr old daughter lay a cushion on me and got comfy whilst we watched horrible histories.
After then taking her up for bedtime and reading her a story, I got to go meet a couple of mates for 4 pints before coming home and getting in bed.
Day off work tomorrow means I'm planning a 40-50 mile road ride.
Reality will then set when I get back as I'll go visit my dad in hospital, but the moments described above are what makes life worth living.
Hugged Mini 10 and listened to him explain about his play garbage route.
